Pricing
We do not reprint prices. They change too often for that to be honest, and a number on our page with no date is worse than sending you to the source.
How we rated it
What it is
Text to speech for reading: web pages, documents and books read aloud in natural voices at adjustable speed, across browser, phone and desktop.
Who it is for
People who read a lot and want to do it while walking, and people with dyslexia or visual impairment.
Where it is strongest
Getting through a reading backlog. Listening at speed turns commuting and walking time into reading time, which is the whole proposition.
Where it falls short
Listening is worse than reading for anything you need to hold in your head — fine for articles, poor for contracts. The good voices are behind the subscription. And it reads structure badly: tables and footnotes become noise.
Our verdict
Recommended for volume reading and for accessibility, where it does real good. Do not use it for material you need to absorb precisely.
