APIs & DEVELOPER INFRASTRUCTURE

Pricing
We do not reprint prices. They change too often for that to be honest, and a number on our page with no date is worse than sending you to the source.
How we rated it
What it is
The main repository of open machine-learning models and datasets, with hosted inference, Spaces for running demos, and the libraries most of the field is built on.
Who it is for
Developers and researchers working with open models rather than closed APIs, and anyone who needs a model to run on their own infrastructure.
Where it is strongest
Finding and trying an open model for a specific job — transcription, classification, image generation — without building the serving stack first.
Where it falls short
Assumes real technical knowledge; it is not a product for end users. Model quality varies enormously and the licences vary with it. Hosted inference is slower than a dedicated provider.
Our verdict
Recommended if open models are part of your plan — there is no real alternative. If you just want something that works, a closed API is less effort.
