What it is

A research assistant for academic literature: searches papers, extracts findings into a comparison table, and summarises what a body of research actually says.

Who it is for

Researchers, analysts and anyone who has to work through dozens of papers to answer one question.

Where it is strongest

Literature review. Pulling the method, sample size and findings from forty papers into one table is days of work it does in minutes.

Where it falls short

Extraction is good rather than perfect, and a misread sample size propagates into your conclusion. Coverage is strongest in the sciences and thin elsewhere. And it summarises what papers claim, not whether the research is sound.

Our verdict

Recommended for literature work, where it removes the most tedious part. Check the extracted numbers against the papers before anything depends on them.
