VIDEO GENERATION & EDITING

Pricing
We do not reprint prices. They change too often for that to be honest, and a number on our page with no date is worse than sending you to the source.
How we rated it
What it is
Video and podcast editing where you edit the transcript instead of the timeline. Delete a sentence in the text and it disappears from the video. It also removes filler words, evens out audio levels, and can fake eye contact with the camera.
Who it is for
People who make talking-head video or podcasts and are not editors. If you can edit a document, you can edit in Descript.
Where it is strongest
Turning a recorded conversation into something publishable without learning an editor. Removing the ums and the false starts takes one click rather than an afternoon.
Where it falls short
It is not a real editor: anything with layered effects, colour grading or careful motion belongs elsewhere. Long projects get sluggish. And the transcription, while good, still needs a read-through before you cut against it.
Our verdict
Recommended for spoken-word video, which is most of what small businesses actually publish. For anything beyond that it is the wrong tool and you will feel it quickly.
