How we rated it
What it is
A Python framework for building systems of several AI agents that work together: each gets a role and tools, and they hand work between them.
Who it is for
Python developers experimenting with multi-agent systems, where one model call is genuinely not enough.
Where it is strongest
Workflows that split naturally into roles — research, then draft, then check — where keeping them separate produces better output than one long prompt.
Where it falls short
Multi-agent systems are slow, expensive and hard to debug, because a failure three agents deep is almost impossible to trace. The framework moves fast and breaks between versions. And most problems people reach for it with are better solved by one good prompt.
Our verdict
Recommended for genuine multi-step research and generation work. Try solving it with a single call first — surprisingly often that works, and it is cheaper and debuggable.
