Who it is for
The default first subscription for almost anyone. If you are not sure what you need yet, start here — the breadth means you will find out by using it.
Where it is strongest
Breadth. It is the only one of these that writes, draws, talks, browses and runs code in the same window, which makes it the best tool for finding out what AI can do for your particular work.
Where it falls short
The breadth costs depth: for long documents and careful editing, a specialist does better. Custom GPTs sound more capable than they are in practice. And output quality varies noticeably between models in the same subscription.
Our verdict
Recommended without reservation as a starting point. The reason to look elsewhere is a specific need it does not cover well, not a general shortcoming.
